Anya and Eli are sharing a room right now, until we're ready to move Eli out of his crib and into Bennett's room. It's funny. All three nights, Anya has fallen asleep the minute her head hits the pillow. But Eli has never had someone sleep in his room with him, so it has taken him a while to get to sleep. He keeps saying, ANNA, ANNA, trying to wake her up. Luckily, she sleeps right through it. :)
Anya really just prefers to play by herself than interact with other little kids. I think that's typical of kids who have been in orphanages. But I'm really gratefully that she's been sweet with Eli. I was worried she would be aggressive. So far, she just lets him join in when she's playing.
The older kids are just eating her up. When they come home from school, I don't even see Anya for a couple of hours. They have been taking her outside so they can show her off to their friends. Sadie LOVES having a little sis. She does her hair multiple times a day and loves to just sit and play with her. Too bad the honeymoon period doesn't last forever. Hee hee.
This spring weather is a welcome treat after leaving freezing-cold Russia. We went out in the back yard yesterday for a good hour and soaked in some sunshine. It was just what we all needed!
I think Anya likes Lasagna as much as Eli does. What do you think?
She loves to color!
Work it, baby.
The three littles watching TV. Don't they look like siblings? Oh, they are!
OK, that's it for now. Just wanted to let you know we're doing great! Thank you all for your sweet comments. It's been so fun reading them. They warm our hearts so much and just make us feel so grateful for our blessings. Sometimes I get caught up in the day-to-day frustrations and forget about the miracles that the Lord has provided for us. Blogging helps bring gratitude back to my heart. I love it and I'm so thankful for all of you!
I've been wondering how you were all doing--glad it's going well. But I hear ya about the 3 under 5!
ReplyDeleteLove the lasagna pic!
So wonderful! She is a beauty, and I love that her siblings love her so much!
ReplyDeleteLove love love seeing Anya at home with her family!!! :)))

ReplyDeleteI just got a photo of Max's bio brother - he looks waaay more like Piper than his biological brother! Definitely meant to be :)

ReplyDeleteI love the pictures. I'm glad to hear that things are going so well! You have a beautiful family!
ReplyDeleteI have just loved watching your journey and thank you for posting so often. God bless your generous hearts!
ReplyDeleteShe is SO CUTE!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like things are going great. I was going to say when I saw the 2 little ones in the bath that they looked like blood siblings. She looks just like her brothers & sister.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about blogging, it helped me today. If you haven't read my blog there is a neat story that I like to read every now & then since I have a daughter with special needs. helps me refocus. You might like the story & copy it so you can read it when you need it.
So happy for your family. :)
Thanks for doing such great updates. She is such a cutie, and what great kids you have! Our boys were the same way when we brought our first adoptive daughter home from Russia.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute pics of Anya!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness is she cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit concerned though, as this is the second photo I've seen of her in a bath tub with a boy. At 5, don't you think she's a bit old to be taking coed baths? Modesty needs to begin early in life.
Also, FYI, there are some sick individuals who really enjoy revealing images of kids. I don't recommend posting this genre of image on your blog.
I have a good friend whose child's picture was found on a pedophile's computer and her image was much more modest (the little girl was in a bathing suit.) You can read about her experience on her blog:

All the best.
Ellie
Please be careful. Not everyone is a good person.
Ellie--thanks for the reminder about posting bath pics. I took them off for safety. In all my craziness right now, I had forgotten about how sick the sicko's are out there.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree about toddlers taking baths together being immodest. We're pretty modest in our dress, but this is not something I'm a bit uncomfortable at this mentality/age. I wouldn't have my typical 5 year old bathe with Anya, but a couple of two year olds (mentally)--it's more fun, it saves water and time, and I sit with them the whole time. Anyway... that's definately one of those things that I'm sure everyone has their own view on. That's mine! Heather
