November 2009 First substantial talk as a couple about adoption. Maybe in the future? The business is way too slow to even consider it!
January, 2010 Jeremy starts jumping on board with the whole idea.

February 2010 Start praying as a family. The kids are excited from the start. Eventually, we know without a doubt it's right!

March 2010 Lots of soul searching. Decide to take the big leap and start our homestudy, paying for it with part of our tax return. Immediately, Jeremy's business starts picking up. Decide we will join Heather's sister's family in adopting from Ethiopia.

April, 2010 Lots more soul searching. Begin visits with social worker and choose and agency. Sign on with International Adoption Network's Ethiopian program. Love the agency. Love the country.

May, 2010 Start gathering a million documents and having them notarized for Ethiopian adoption.

May 27, 2010 Officially pull out of IAN's Ethiopia program. Lose $1500. :( Sign on with new agency who partners with RR

May 28, 2010 Passports arrive! Time to start the new dossier and wait for Social Worker to complete homestudy.

June 15, 2010 Homestudy is complete!

June 16, 2010 Sent in I-600 A application. Registration documents being apostiled

July 6, 2010 Received USCIS fingerprinting appointments. Scheduled 7/28. Registration Dossier is in route to Eastern Europe!

July 28 2010 USCIS Fingerprinting Appt.

August 16 2010 Heather went to BCI to get re-fingerprinted for the FBI. Express Mailed them the next day.

August 24 2010 Registration Dossier Submitted to Commitee

Sept 3, 2010 Received USCIS Approval!

Oct 23, 2010 Finally Received Heather's FBI Approval!
|
October 26, 2010 First Travel Date Received
|
November 21-27 First Trip to Russia
|
January 17, 2011 Court Dossier Submitted
|
February 22, 2011 Court- 2nd trip to Russia
|
March 21, 2011 GOTCHA DAY! (3rd trip)
